Is it Possible to Train Yourself to be Positive?

  • Posted on September 30, 2010 at 10:21 pm

There are always so many things going on in our lives. We have to get everybody going in the morning, make sure the kids have lunch money, homework is done, baths are taken. Then it is time to get us going – bath is taken, gas in the car, lunch made. We go to work and do all of our duties there, then we come home and do all of the duties there, go to bed, get up the next day and do it all over again! Are we always positive during all of this? If I look at myself, I would say probably not. Do you think it is possible to train yourself to be positive? I’m not sure, but I am totally game.

Check out this article that I found on Positively Positive. It has some good information in it and I am open for trying new things. Just think, if you are positive, it will also help you to not be stressed. And of course if you are not stressed, your health should be better too, right?

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Ok -I am sure you have realized by now that I enjoy reading Ralph Waldo Emerson. I wanted to put this up for you, but I wanted to give you my 2 cents worth…

Sometimes we are so caught up in trying to be a success that we don’t really remember what being a success is. Check out Ralph Waldo Emerson’s poem Success and see if it opens your eyes as it did mine.

Success

To laugh often and much
To win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

When I read this, I know that I am already a success. Everything else that I am doing to “make” myself a success – well it is just extra….

How Can You Test the Validity of a Contract?

  • Posted on September 26, 2010 at 8:59 pm

A valid contract is an agreement that courts will enforce against all parties. If you want to check to see if a contract is valid, take a look at these contract requirements:

  1. It must be based on a mutual agreement by the parties to do or not to do a specific thing.
  2. It must be made by parties who are competent to enter into a contract that will be enforceable against both parties.
  3. The promise or obligation of eachparty must be supported by consideration (such as the paying of money, the delivery of goods, or the promise to do or refrain from doing some lawful future act) given by each party to the contract.
  4. It must be for a lawful purpose; that is, the purpose of the contract must not be illegal, such as the unauthorized buying and selling of narcotics.
  5. In some cases, the contract must meet certain formal requirements, such as being in writing or under seal.

Of course, this article is just for information. If you have specific questions, please seek legal advice.

Gratitude…How Can It Help Your Time Management?

  • Posted on September 26, 2010 at 12:28 am
Time management tips help you develop your grounding. And gratitude is always a choice that enriches your time and your life – always. Gratitude is anything but sentimental or irrelevant. On the contrary, gratitude is grounded in the rock-hard realities of life. You make the best of what is. You take the full measure of your gifts, knowing anything you now possess can be taken away, except your commitment to do your best.

Here are 3 new time management techniques, grounded in gratitude:

Technique Number One: Assess your strengths, using gratitude.

Resentment saps your incentive by focusing on what you don’t have. Gratitude opens your heart. If you accentuate the positive and are grateful, you respond to challenges more fully aware of what resources you can draw upon.

Now, and anytime you feel overwhelmed, take a few moments to list what you are grateful for. List everything you have going for you. Take special notice of any of the ways your choices have contributed to using your time effectively. Notice how this replaces a scarcity mentality with an abundance reality. Your decisions around time will always be stronger when you anchor yourself with gratitude and a thorough assessment of your assets.

Technique Number Two: Create a gratitude scenario to work towards.

Whatever your current situation, envision a successful outcome entirely within your control. It may be a triumph over difficult odds, won through your patience and persistence. It may be a triumph of spirit in the face of forces beyond your control, derived from your dedication to grow and learn. Either way, it is your triumph.

Notice how a realistic gratitude scenario overcomes a fear-based “what if?” fantasy. Your capacity to make your best time choices builds from your actual strengths now, not from fear of the unknown future. And your gratitude links you to all your best decisions, as well as to all the people who have helped you throughout your life.

Technique Number Three: Choose your allies with gratitude.

If you feel you need a major turnaround to make the best use of your time, envision yourself joining the ranks of all those who have shared inspirational stories with you, in person or in interviews and books. You can be as successful, and grow to where you increasingly give thanks for what you have been given, and for what you can give yourself and others.

Consider what words of encouragement you would like to offer someone else who looks to you for guidance. How would you like to pass along the good news about how enormous the moment can be, when your heart is full and when you are doing your best?

Give yourself this message, and write it down. Review it at the end of the day. And give thanks to yourself that you care enough about yourself to make the best of this moment, and all moments to come.

Now, ask yourself: How can you start strengthening your sense of gratitude today to enhance your effectiveness and start finding more time?

Time Management for Entreprenuers

  • Posted on September 26, 2010 at 12:14 am
A person who operates and undertakes an enterprise or venture and bears all the related profits and losses is known as an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are busy people and time management is crucial to them. Irrespective of the business, time is a precious commodity for an entrepreneur. Here you will get information to help you get more sales and profits out of the limited time that can be invested in the creation of an enterprise.

We all know that we can produce twice as much income from our business by investing double the time for which we currently work, or by putting forth double the amount of efforts. The path to success lies in working for the same time that we currently work, but making it twice as productive.

Initially you must know that time can be classified into two categories. The first is known as ‘opportunity time’, during which we achieve our business targets such as choosing new products to advertisements and markets, providing follow-up services and making some test marketing to accessible clients. The subsequent is replenishment time, during which we restore our power through relaxation, recreation, exercise, and sleep. If we do not spend enough time for replenishment then we will soon be facing a burnout during which we will neither be physically fit nor successful in our business decisions.

It is astonishing to know how much of our business time can be exhausted by minor interruptions until we make a decisive effort not to let that happen. Successful entrepreneurs are tough enough not to let these interruptions occur during his or her productive business hours. Mostly, the activities or the work that consumes most of our time is usually pointless things which we don’t mind spending our time on as they are easy to work upon, while the things that are very important to do and require focus are usually left behind.

The key thing to do is to divide our work in the sequence of importance or priority and divisions like production, sales, marketing etc. Do not do inventory work or cleaning your desk or filing during sales times. These things should be done during free time.

Successful business people at all times work on the most important tasks first of all. If you face an issue or a challenge in your work to which you do not have an immediate solution, concentrate as much as you can to arrive at an answer, if you are not able to then write down the concern and then the possible solutions that come to your mind. If you do not get the solution then set it aside and return to it later that day. Allow your mind to work on the other important things for sometime. Then, when you arrive back to the concern or challenge, you will probably have a better and fresher perspective on it and find the perfect solution for the same.

Just being a little wise and prioritizing the work will go a long way in helping an entrepreneur manage his or her time efficiently.
